Legendary martial artist and actor Jackie Chan, recently made a touching remark on social media that left admirers disturbed. Chan, 71, took to Instagram to celebrate his latest accolade, the prestigious Pardo alla Carriera Career accolade Award from the Locarno Film Festival.
While his message was aimed at celebrating decades of hard work and dedication, the tone and image chosen sparked a wave of fear online. The dull-toned edit of his smiling shot, along with a lengthy introspective statement, caused misunderstanding as m any followers mistook it for a farewell or devastating news.

However, when followers read the complete caption, their astonishment turned to admiration. Chan expressed his thanks and gave a profound commentary on his rise from humble origins to global film icon.
In the post, he wrote: “From my humble beginnings as an unknown martial artist on the set, working my way to where I am today; from wanting to work for just a meal, to being recognized by so many people around the world watching my movies. I always keep telling myself one simple thing, that is to make sure each shot captured is a good take.
He continued: “I couldn’t achieve these valuable moments on film alone, these memories were made possible with the help of my brothers (the JC Stunt Team). We used our lives to capture those unforgettable scenes. I’d like to thank the Locarno Film Festival for presenting me the prestigious career achievement award, Pardo alla Carriera. Also a big thank you to all my fans all over the world!”
Jackie Chan is set to receive the Career Achievement Award at the Locarno Film Festival in August. The award, known as Pardo alla Carriera, is one of the most respected honors in the international film circuit. Past recipients include industry legends such as Tsai Ming-liang, Bruno Ganz, Harry Belafonte, Dante Spinotti, and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
