Queen Camilla and King Charles celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary on April 9, 2025 while they visited Italy as part of their state duties.
Queen Camilla revealed to reporters in Rome the three elements which brought them everlasting happiness in their marriage – friendship along with laughter and shared experiences.
It is difficult to believe that their marriage has reached twenty years of duration. The queen expressed this thought when interviewed.
According to her, the main factor behind their happy marriage stems from being great friends. The couple shares similar perspectives on life through mutual amusement while continuing their daily activities.
She stated that “this” occupies most of their time because of their royal responsibilities which occupied both their schedules during their Italian visit. According to Camilla their relationship maintains an active state of motion since their lives always move in separate directions similar to passing ships at night. We whizz past each other.”
According to the Queen their professional duties result in occasional separation but they manage to spend time together at night. Queen Camilla explained to the reporter that she and her husband will swap anniversary presents when they return to the UK after spending time together over dinner for catching up.
Queen Camilla expressed her disbelief about the traditional 20th anniversary gift of china when she said “Dream on!” Queen Camilla showed disinterest in any easy-going celebration during their anniversary with Prince Charles as she told reporters that her husband should not slow down his work. They both anticipate a personal and private occasion later on.
The visit to Italy brought great happiness to Camilla because Italy holds dear memories from her childhood years. Visitors to Italy automatically experience a better mental state.

They are so friendly. Everybody is so lovely. The food combined with excellent weather produced an atmosphere that enchants her,” she explained.
The royal pair celebrated their twenty years together at Palazzo Quirinale with a luxurious state banquet, which marked their anniversary elegantly.
The Italian state visit stands as their inaugural diplomatic journey of 2023 while providing King Charles and Queen Camilla an opportunity to re-establish ties with Italy since this nation has significant personal importance to them.
The royal couple started their relationship through a mutual friend back in 1970 which has now expanded past 35 years. Their initial marriages separated them before they started dating again many years later.
Queen Camilla has stood by King Charles during his royal path including his ascension as king in 2022 and his continuing battle against cancer.
The foundation of their relationship since 2005 remains strong because they share love together with mutual respect along with a sense of humor which according to Camilla creates solid relationships.
