The story of Raíces describes what brought these two together as collaborators. Emilio gave Gloria the song “Raíces” a few years ago, and it became one of her favorites.
Still, at that point, her calendar was full, so the thought of making an album was quite daunting for her. As a caring producer and partner, Emilio came up with a clever solution to the problem.
He then says, ‘Why don’t we try this? Do you have trust in me? She went on, saying, “I told her, ‘Yes, I believe you completely,’ and smiled.”
Then, Emilio handled the creation and brought the demos to Gloria. When he sent her the demos, she started to fall in love with the music.
When I went to the studio to start recording, the songs had become a natural part of my identity.
In Gloria’s view, the moment for Raíces seemed just right because she wanted to record a Spanish album that showed where she came from. The songs on the album were so full of emotion and different sounds that it achieved what I wished for.
It tells a very intimate story of love. Gloria talked about how the album is full of love songs. She once told me that Emilio wrote a song for her, and that it proved how he showed his love through their creative works.
