Boston Celtics Eye NBA Record for Road Wins After Perfect 6-0 Trip

The Boston Celtics are making waves with their historic road performance, coming off their first-ever 6-0 road trip. This is after a 117-103 victory over Memphis on Monday.

This win extended their current road win streak to a whooping eight games, pushing their away record to an impressive 32-7.

Interestingly, this is just two wins away from tying the NBA’s single-season road victories record set by Golden State in 2015-16 (34-7).

With two road games remaining—thus April 8 at New York and April 9 at Orlando—the Celtics are poised to make history.

Interestingly, their performance on the road has been remarkable, with 23 double-digit victories, one shy of tying the NBA record set by the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers.

In addition, the Celtics have outscored their road opponents by 404 points, just 26 points away from matching the Lakers’ mark from that same legendary season.

Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla believes the team’s success on the road comes down to consistency. “It’s more about just playing consistent basketball,” he said, noting that this year’s team has developed a unique “road mentality.”

While the Celtics are closing in on NBA history, the Oklahoma City Thunder are also making a strong push for the record for fewest road losses in a season, currently standing at 29-7 with four games left on the road.

Despite trailing Cleveland in the Eastern Conference standings, the Celtics remain the favorites to win the East and are second to Oklahoma City in odds to win the NBA Finals, according to BetMGM Sportsbook.

With their strong road play and a chance at further breaking records, the Celtics are entering the final stretch of the regular season with a historic run in sight.
